The sweet and wonder Jessica Seinfeld! She is the creator of one of my favorite cookbooks entitled “Deceptively Delicious.” It is a superb work of art that intertwines all of the comfort foods that you love with the nutritional benefits of whole fruits and veggies. Here’s how the story goes: She was a hard working mother who found that her kiddos would just not eat their broccoli when it was staring at them with big, green, leafy eyes. So she whipped up a magical potion, pureed that broccoli, and dropped it right into the chicken nugget mix. All of the sudden those kids loved their greens. And that’s how she created a whole cookbook full of deceptively delicious recipes that incorporate whole foods! Magic!

Everfit! To say Everfit has been an inspiration to me is an understatement. Everfit is an outdoor fitness group that incorporates wellness of mind, body, and spirit. It takes the idea of total body cross-training outside into the great outdoors where body weight exercises are used to build lean muscle mass and endurance. I have had the privilege of being an instructor for Everfit for the last two years. The owners (Holly and Stephanie), the clients, and the essence of Everfit has given me new insight to fitness and total body wellness. Michael Pollan! He is one of the people that I most admire right now. He has written several books including: The Omnivore’s Dilemma, In Defense of Food, and several others pertaining to the topic of the food we eat. He also appeared in Food INC., which was a documentary that exposes the industrialized food system and its effects on our health. Check out one of his books or Food INC. to further investigate the food that we are putting into our bodies.
